I’ve been road tripping through parts of the West this week and particularly love it when I stumble upon a queer haven in the middle of a red state. Helper, Utah, for example, was almost a ghost town after the coal industry shut down. But locals, along with transplant lesbians and artists, started intentionally building it into a place that could be sustainable, safe, and Queer AF.
