The spirits are terrible at texting, but they keep trying.

From your memory or from your imagination, make a list of at least five things you or another character might have interpreted as a “sign” from the unseen world—a message from the dead, from your inner self, from god, or from any kind of ethereal life coach. Maybe your character’s dead father is sending missives via chickadees, you dream a warning about a friend, your aunt sees Mother Mary in the burn marks on a piece of toast, you attach a particular meaning to a coyote sighting, or . . . anything! Let the five things come to you.
